The terms between you and Inside Studio I/S when you use CaloriSpy.
Pay monthly or yearly through the App Store, cancel whenever you like, and keep access to the end of the period you paid for. The numbers CaloriSpy shows you are estimates, not medical advice.
Who we are
CaloriSpy is made and operated by Inside Studio I/S, CVR 46668448, Denmark. The service lives at calorispy.app. Reach a human at [email protected].
Using CaloriSpy means accepting these terms. How we handle your data is a separate document: the privacy policy.
Your account
You need to be 16 or over to have an account. There is no password: you sign in with a link sent to your email address, or with Apple or Google. Your inbox is the key, so keep it to yourself.
One account is for one person. A household can shop together, but the account belongs to whoever created it, and you are responsible for what happens under it.
You can close your account at any time from inside the app. What happens to your data is in the privacy policy.
Trial and payment
CaloriSpy starts with a fourteen-day free trial that takes no card. Fourteen rather than seven, because it takes about two shops before the app knows most of what you eat. In closed beta we sometimes grant longer.
The trial does not roll into a subscription
Nothing is charged when the fourteen days are up, because there is nothing to charge it to. No card on file, no auto-renewal to cancel.
What stops is the automatic half: no connected shops, no Apple Health, no receipt read for you, no photo estimate, no AI lookup. Your log stays readable and exportable, barcode scanning and adding food by hand keep working, and subscribing switches the rest back on.
After the trial there is one plan, at 79 kr a month or 599 kr a year. Prices are in Danish kroner. The subscription is sold through the App Store, so Apple is the seller of record and the payment is between you and Apple. We never see or store a card number.
A subscription renews until you cancel it. A price change comes with 30 days' notice and never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time. Because the subscription is sold through the App Store, you cancel in Apple's settings and not in CaloriSpy: Settings, your name, Subscriptions. We cannot do it from our side, and your access runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds are Apple's to give. Apple takes the payment, so Apple handles refunds, at reportaproblem.apple.com and under its own policy. If the reason is something we broke, tell us anyway.
The 14-day right of withdrawal. As a consumer buying at a distance in the EU you normally have fourteen days to change your mind. Digital services carry an exception: ask for the service to start immediately and the right ends once it is fully performed, and until then you may be charged for the part you used. You exercise it against Apple, who sold you the subscription.
What we would rather you did instead. The free trial exists so this paragraph never has to matter: fourteen days, no card, the whole product. If something went wrong after you paid, write to [email protected] and we will sort it out.
If we cannot agree, you can take the matter to Mæglingsteamet for Forbrugerklager og Forbrugerklagenævnet (Nævnenes Hus), Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, naevneneshus.dk. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
What the app is not
CaloriSpy is a tracking tool. Every figure in it is an estimate built from product data, receipt lines and, if you use the camera, a model's guess at a plate. Estimates are useful. They are not measurements.
Not advice
CaloriSpy is not a medical device and gives no medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Do not use it to make a decision a doctor should be making with you.
If you have or have had an eating disorder, calorie tracking can do real harm. Talk to a health professional before using CaloriSpy, and stop if it starts to feel compulsive. This matters more to us than a subscription.
Pregnant or breastfeeding, managing a condition, or under medical supervision for your weight: take your targets from your clinician.
Connected shops
CaloriSpy reads receipts from shops and services you connect yourself: Storebox, Coop, Netto, Rema 1000, Lidl, Circle K and Wolt, plus Kanpla for canteen menus. A connection fetches what you already bought: we only ever read. Your shop password is typed into the shop's own login and never reaches us. We do not place orders, spend money or change your details, and you can disconnect at any time.
Those shops are not ours. We do not control what they send, how accurate it is, or whether they break a connection tomorrow. If yours is not supported, forwarding the receipt email lands the same data in the same Food Bank.
Shop names and logos belong to their owners. CaloriSpy is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
Fair use
Do not:
- Scrape, bulk-download or resell the food catalogue.
- Share one account between several people, or resell access.
- Reverse engineer the service, attack it, or reach another person's data.
- Build a competing product out of what you can extract.
- Upload anything illegal, or anything that is not yours.
We may suspend or close an account doing one of those, and we will say why. The automatic parts also carry a monthly spending limit, to stop a runaway loop rather than to ration a normal month.
Availability and changes
We work to keep CaloriSpy running, but we do not promise it will never be down. There is no uptime guarantee at this price.
Features change. A material change to your disadvantage, or closing the service, comes with 30 days' notice and a refund of the unused part of anything you prepaid.
Liability and law
These terms are governed by Danish law, and disputes belong to the Danish courts. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live.
Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Not for indirect or consequential loss, and specifically not for a decision you made because a calorie estimate was wrong.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your consumer rights are unaffected.
If we update these terms, the date at the top changes and we tell you in the app first. This version is dated 2 September 2026.
